I work in electoral politics and policy, but am an activist at heart. I've wanted to save the world as long as I can remeber, and I have been working to do my part in the women's movement, the environmental movement, public broadcasting, and health care. But I'm not even close to your typical liberal, I promise I will surprise you! I am a tangled web of contradictions, which hopefully keeps things interesting.

I never thought I'd be divorced at 36. But I was married too young, to my best friend. We are still close, and co-parent very well. I have kids 50% of the time, and the rest of the time I'm on my own. I guess you could say I'm doing in my 30's what a lot of my friends did in their 20's- meeting new people, trying things out, looking for lasting love. I am still a romantic, and when I love, I love sincerely and deeply. But I pride myself most on being a great friend and a great parent.

I am a university professor of history and French. For many years, I lived, studied, and played professional basketball in Spain and France. I am extremely interested in the socio-economic, and political issues with which the 'The World" countries face. I taught for two years at the University of Lagos; and I would like to live and teach in South Africa.I am an easygoing person; at the present time, I am finishing a novel I commenced over a year ago. I enjoy socialising with people from whom I can learn. I like to travel- I visit France yearly; and alhtough I am 68 years old, I still have a great yearning for life, learning new things, meeting new people, and seeing other parts of the world.
As for money, I spent all I had on my sons' education. Princeton, Northeastern Universities and the Univ. of California took all the money I earned. Yet, I am happy because I believe that my children and my grandchildren will have a better chance in life than I, the eldest child of black peasants.
